About

Kim Brown brings extensive experience in family medicine and geriatric psychiatry, with a strong focus on disease prevention, chronic disease management and patient-centered care. She cares for patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to geriatrics, with particular experience supporting older adults, individuals with psychiatric conditions and patients with complex chronic medical needs. Kim is passionate about improving access to healthcare in rural communities and providing comprehensive care that considers both physical and mental health needs.

In addition to her clinical work, Kim has been actively involved in nursing leadership, health policy advocacy and community health initiatives throughout her career. She has represented Iowa through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners’ Internship Leadership Fellowship Program in Washington, D.C., and has served on the Ottumwa Regional Health Care Hospital Board and the Wapello County Board of Health. Outside of healthcare, Kim enjoys rural life on her 300-acre farm, where she cares for horses, dogs and other animals. She is the proud mother of four daughters, whose careers and lives have taken them to communities across the Midwest. After the passing of her husband of 41 years in 2024, family continues to be an important part of her life.
