Dr. Friessen's path to medicine began during his service as a combat medic in the National Guard and was further strengthened through three years of orthopedic experience with the United States Navy. Before pursuing medicine, Dr. Friessen worked in construction, welding, manufacturing, and farming. This hands-on background gives him a unique understanding of the physical demands many of his patients face each day. He is passionate about helping individuals recover from orthopedic injuries and conditions so they can safely return to work, family responsibilities, and active lifestyles.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Friessen enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. He maintains an active lifestyle through exercise and outdoor recreation, including riding motorcycles and four-wheelers. Combining his interests in fitness and innovation, he designed, patented, and continues to manufacture his own piece of exercise equipment.
“I believe meaningful care begins with understanding each patient as an individual, including their goals, lifestyle, and the activities that are most important to them. Together, we can develop an individualized treatment plan to relieve pain, restore function, and improve quality of life. I consider both surgical and nonsurgical approaches and work to determine what treatment is right for them."

Ratings and Reviews
Dr. Friesen was very good at determining that my situation did not need surgery, but instead physical therapy. The Ex-rays confirmed that there were no broken bones and that this was an issue better served by physical therapy and not surgical means. This was not only helpful but a relief to me that I didn't require surgical intervention. I was very happy with Dr. Friesen's findings and found this to be a very good visit. I have my first physical therapy session in about a week and I think this is going to be very helpful. All in all a good experience!
